Breaking news from the PSBJ.
Real Estate developer Greg Smith has plans to build Seattle’s tallest skyscraper (77 stories). According to the article the site will encompass most of the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenue and Marion and Columbia Streets. Its very early in the process at this point. Smith (CEO of Urban Visions) and his partner and brother Mickey Smith will start the process of obtaining city approvals. The plan is to leave the Metropolitan Grill where it is. It sounds like the plans are office, hotel and residential. Hotel and residential alone are an option as well according to quotes from Smith.
For more information on the vision of the project, see the PSBJ article here. Kudos to Marc Stiles on some great reporting.
