Volta Condominiums At Risk Of Foreclosure Auction

In news just released this morning, courtesy of Lynn Porter at the DJC, Volta condominiums is set to go auction in March unless conditions are met.

Volta, foremly known as Alex has been an interesting project to follow.  Back in 2007 Saltaire construction started work on the mid-rise Belltown project. Sales were set to begin in spring of 2008, but since then the projects future was as unstable as the struggling economy.  Even now, the project advertises on their website that a sales gallery would open in the Spring of 2010.

Volta is designed for 34 homes with 20 different floor plans on a 8 story design. The ground floor was to contain a combination of commercial space and live/work lofts. The rest of the project was designed to feature one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den and two-bedroom homes ranging in size from 626 to 1,095 square feet. Two penthouse units would feature soaring 15′ ceiling heights, skylights, spectacular views and large private rooftop decks.  Amid speculation that the project would be converting to apartments, Volta stood firm in their plans to become Seattle’s latest condominium offering.  At this point, we’ll have to follow the latest developments to see what the future holds.
